    A Spiritual Space for All

The Church of England is the official, ‘established’ church in the land. Every part of the country is divided into church parishes, represented by a C of E church – a ‘parish’ church. So, wherever you live, you live in a church’s parish. Your parish church belongs to you, and in a sense you to it. As a resident you have an automatic, civic right to mark the seasons of life at the parish church, regardless of your faith persuasion – whether you count yourself religious, or ‘other’ religion, or non-religious. You can have a child christened here, marry here, and have a funeral here, and burial where the churchyard still has room.

Our C of E churches, our parish churches, are everyone’s churches: A parish church for every parishioner. In this day and age many people wish to affirm a spiritual aspect in their lives, without necessarily signing up to a particular religion. The C of E parish church is a spiritual space that anyone can relate to; a place for quiet reflection, feeling in touch with centuries of history, heritage, and culture. We take pride in having our churches open daily for passing visitors. The churchyard is a place to contemplate fond thoughts of former loved ones and the mystery of eternity and the after-life.

And we provide traditional Sunday worship across the churches of the Upper Wensum Benefice parish group, and associated events, and are involved with local C of E Primary Schools and Care Home.
